Looking Back at 2011

It’s the start of another new year–better call the newspaper up. And while you’re at it, why not read my look back at 2011?

  2. What was your status by Valentine’s Day? In a relationship

(I hated this; in fact, I left at intermission), Wicked, The Grapes of Wrath, Jesus Christ Superstar, To Kill a MockingbirdMemphis, Hair (twice), American Idiot; sporting events, hockey games in Toronto (3) and Calgary (only one!), baseball games in Toronto (7), a Mexican league soccer game in Mexico City, a CIS football game in Calgary…and that’s it.

  1. I've found it so nice not watching TV regularly for the mostpart. I'll catch a few shows, and some online in downtime, but I don't feel like I'm missing anything huge.

  2. I haven't watched a non-sports television show in years; the closest I've been was Being Erica, but even then I didn't feel a great sense of loss if I missed an episode (or three, or five…or a season, for that matter). Plus, with shows now on DVD or Netflix, there's no pressure. You can view them as extended movies.

  3. I prefer them that way for sure. Far more enjoyable to OD on a show over a long weekend and get multiple seasons in than waste certain nights for multiple years.
