I’m still in a bit of a blogging funk–the result, no doubt, of the lingering effects of strep throat. But with Lukas Neville going under the knife this week, I feel bad complaining about a niggling sore throat…and with the Super Bowl less than five hours away, and with the Rolling Stones playing the halftime show, I shouldn’t be complaining about anything, really. I don’t have much to write about the actual game, since every single possible angle has been beaten to death in the last two weeks (and by the way, the two-week gap between the conference championships and the Super Bowl needs to go). I do think, however, that Pittsburgh has demontrated its superiority the last few weeks with decisive wins against Cincinatti, Indianapolis (the final scoreline was deceptive), and that the gap between the AFC and the NFC is underrated. Seattle is undoubtedly good…but Pittsburgh has it going on right now. Pittsburgh 27, Seattle 20.
As for the Stones…well, twelve minutes=three songs? Four at the most? “Start Me Up”, “Brown Sugar” and “Jumping Jack Flash” seem like the obvious candidates…but for some reason I’m thinking “Rough Justice” will make a cameo tonight. Oh, and “It’s Only Rock n’ Roll” is another possibility, although I’d be surprised if “Satisfaction” were played. So, after all this hemming and hawing, what do I think?
I think four songs:
- Start Me Up
- Rough Justice
- Brown Sugar
- Jumping Jack Flash
We’ll see what happens around 8pm EST.
