I’ve been accussed of being a lot of things when it comes to Pearl Jam–but one thing I can safely say is that I have never bought a cargo van and then taken it cross-country following the band on an entire tour. Not like the four people behind the Touring Band phenomenon, who bought a van and then rode it to all of Pearl Jam’s sixteen Canadian shows in September 2005. Their website shows you how incredible an experience it was for them, along with the random associates who popped up every so often; there’s also a DVD which chronicles the adventure, and which I, for obvious reasons, have ordered. I’ll be posting a review here shortly; I’m sure you can’t wait.
In the meantime, chew on this: rumours abound of a Pearl Jam gig, confirmed, in Albany, NY on May 12, as part of a mini-tour of the eastern seaboard to coincide with the release of their new album (which Eddie jokingly said would be titled Superunown’d). Methinks another adventure is afoot.
