Top Ten iTunes of the Month

I figured I should get this out of the way as I await the inevitable “Culpepper is done for the year” announcement from Mankato, which will rank up there with “the Minnesota North Stars are moving to Dallas” and “the Leafs had resigned Aki Berg” as the most depressing sports-related announcements of my life. Remember last month’s list, where every other song was by System of a Down? Thankfully, this one is a lot more eclectic:

  1. The Clash, “Straight to Hell”
  2. Pearl Jam, “Oceans”
  3. Faith No More, “Surprise! You’re Dead!”
  4. U2, “City of Blinding Lights”
  5. The B-52s, “Rock Lobster”
  6. The Arcade Fire, “Wake Up”*
  7. Pearl Jam, “You Are”
  8. U2, “Pride (In the Name of Love)”
  9. Black Eyed Peas, “My Humps”
  10. The Rolling Stones, “Dead Flowers”

*–I know I’ve said a lot of bad things about the Arcade Fire, and I stand by them…but this song was (is) U2’s intro music on their current tour, it sounded pretty cool at the Air Canada Centre and, well, it’s the sixth most listened to song of October 2005. So sue me.

Currently Playing: Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band, “Land of Hope and Dreams” (live)

  1. Wow, Steve listens to Faith No More? πŸ™‚ And even after the whole unpleasant Tomahawk experience. πŸ˜› Ah, memories of listening to that album after shifts at Sleeping Giant Provincial Park – especially that song. πŸ™‚ Faith No More also irritated Darren to no end, at the time. πŸ™‚ /end rambling
